Chapter Twelve

Evie

Nothing compared to lying in the arms of four gorgeous guys. Being with them,, giving myself completely, desiring them endlessly. I wasn’t sure how we five together would play out at first, but I let them take charge, let them guide me, and the thrill thrummed through my body.

They were mine.

I was theirs.

My toes curled as I held on to that thought, grasping it like my life depended on it.

Warmth spread through me, clinging to me as if I were untouchable. They were delusional thoughts, but I let them linger for a moment longer, let myself believe we were somehow free, able to lead the life we longed for with each other. I hadn’t given thought to what I’d do once I escaped… Getting out was a priority above all else.

All five of us lay on the floor, gasping for breath, sweating. Orphic ran a hand over the side of my face, cupping my chin, and from the depth of his sky-blue eyes, he stared at me with intensity as if reading my thoughts and agreeing with them.

Maxon hugged me from behind, an arm looped around my waist, our bodies pressed close, his soft breaths in my hair. Nathair staggered up and strolled into the bathroom. My eyes fell to his tight ass… so damn cute. Acyn lay at my feet, cupping them in his arms, his eyes closed.

There was nowhere else I’d rather be, and my mind rolled over the last words I’d said out loud, cringing on the inside that they’d fallen out so easily.

“I love you,” I’d mumbled. “I love each and every one of you.”

The words had come out so fast, during a moment of vulnerability, when my walls had been torn down. Part of me regretted putting them out there, and maybe the guys hadn’t heard me since none of them had responded. It was better that way… I blurted shit out sometimes, got excited too quick. And I couldn’t stand it if they rejected me.

Orphic’s thumb gently stroked my cheek, distracting me. We were outcasts, forgotten, unloved. And most of all, we were feared. That was my focus: survival.

“I couldn’t have done this without you,” I murmured.

Maxton chuckled behind me, his hand sliding higher over my stomach, cupping a breast. His touch ignited the fire within me.

“You could have tried,” he said. “But nothing compares to the real thing.” He lightly thrust his hips forward, his growing hardness nestled against my ass.

“Hey, that’s not what I meant.” I nudged him with my shoulder, but he left a trail of kisses down my arm in response, pressing himself against me. I adored feeling him against me… feeling all of them, like we were joined and meant to be together.

“I’m with Maxton,” Acyn muttered, his fingers crawling up my leg, the lightness of his touch tickling. I burst out laughing at the sensation. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d felt this free.

“I know what you meant,” Orphic muttered. “We stick together. That’s the plan.” I gripped his hand, nodding, and his words from earlier flooded my thoughts.
